Hello CIBBOWS!

I am a first-time Governor’s Island swimmer. I’ve done three open-water swims in lakes and one in a river (Allegheny in Pittsburgh). However, I haven’t done one near a sea – do we need to wear anti-jellyfish lotion or anything? Or, will basic waterproof sunscreen suffice?

Will swim caps be provided, or should we bring our own? I have a white swimcap and an orange suit, so hopefully I’ll be visible.

I’m also wondering about how to get to the Island by 7am Saturday. The website says ferries don’t begin that early. Looking forward to the email!

Anyway, can’t wait! Swam 2 mi this morning in a pool. Can’t wait for better scenery 🙂
