Hi All!
I’ll be in NYC from Minneapolis visiting a friend next weekend and am planning to swim with you all. Wondering about water temps and typical conditions? Are you laughing? I realize these can be vary to say the least- but am curious to hear your answers. I’ve never done an open water swim of any distance in the ocean. (Minnesota. Land of 10,000 Lakes) Do most folks where wetsuits this time of year or? Thanks! -

Salt water will give you buoyancy and temp should be warm enough – so in my opinion, ditch the wetsuit unless it makes you more comfortable mentally.
