Phyllis has been an open water swimmer for about a dozen years and has been fortunate to have been involved in and completed test swims with CIBBOWS, NYOW, NYCSwim, Patagoniaswim from 1-mile to multiple mile swims and cold water. She swam grade level in high school and college and went back to swim masters after a nearly 20 year hiatus.
She feels grateful for having a group like CIBBOWS to call swim buddies and a community. She is a practicing dentist in private practice and works in legal dentistry as a forensic dental consultant. Her husband is an architect specializing in energy efficient strategy, PassivHaus, and sometimes will pull himself away from his desk to join at the beach but only in the warmer months!
